The forum is targeted to academics, entrepreneurs, authors, artists and professors who will gather to discuss about innovation, ideas, inspiration and knowledge. The Forum will be organised in different workshops, conferences as well as an exposition in order to present new technologies and to stress the importance of creativity. Among the distinguished high-level speakers, you will find: Jimmy Wales, promoter and co-founder of Wikipedia, Malcolm Gladwell, author of “The Tipping point, Blink and Outliers” and Garr Reynolds, author of “Presentation Zen & the Naked presenter”.
The MKW-workshops will focus on:

- November 17: European and MKW-experiences in the field of Design & Creativity with inspiring contributions (to be confirmed) from DG Enterprise, the University of Milan and pitches from Finland, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Bridging the innovation gap
Europe has vast innovation potential. It has a long-standing tradition of breakthrough inventions. Its home to a wealth of creative people and it can capitalise on excellent research and cultural diversity. Yet, Europe does not fully benefit from these advantages, partly because research results and ideas of universities, labs, companies and inventors are often not used and turned into services and products. Making Knowledge Work (MKW) aims to bridge this gap within the innovation chain through exchange of know-how and concrete policy actions involving key stakeholders and innovation actors in the 12 partner regions of the project. All partners have developed regional action plans which focus on the transfer of succesful best practices from other regions to stimulate the take up and commercialisation of innovative ideas and R&D results: bridging the innovation gap!
